' JUKUT GEDANG ' AS DIABETES NATURAL CURES

A bowl of fresh vegetable ' Jukut Gedang' (Young papaya vegetables) was ready to eat on the table. Special   lunch as usually prepared for me by my beautiful and hard worker grand mom. My grandmother was very diligent to cook vegetables ' Jukut Gedang' (Young papaya vegetables) mixed with green beans and spices of typical Bali. This Jukut Gedang "(Papaya vegetables) was prepared for lunch time. The young papaya picked up from the garden beside our home. My grandmother loved farming so much in our beloved home. Besides used as vegetables. Ripe papaya is also eaten as fresh dessert, fresh juice, fruits ice,    pudding, fruits candies, etc. By my village inhabitants, papaya utilized to treat diabetes, treat ulcers and heartburn. Young papaya leaves are also used as ingredients' Urab ‘ mixed vegetables. The young leaves of papaya in quotation, washed and cooked in boiling water. Once cooked, cut and mixed with grated coconut and spices of ‘Urab Bali ’.

Tempuyung leafs ( Sonchus arvensis ) ' Don Sembung ‘ is herbal type that is very easy to grow in the moist area and protected from the sun. Along the path of my village in Klungkung, Bali overgrown by tempuyung leafs ' Don sembung ' .And even the traditional walls of villager’s homes are also covered by tempuyung leaves ‘ Don sembung’. At the time I was still studying in kindergarten ( On my childhood stories ). I was interested to my grandfather hobby, who likes to eat fresh vegetables 'Don sembung' so much. The bitter taste was not an obstacle for my grandfather when swallowing 'Don sembung'. Grandfather eat 'Don sembung' to treat ' heartburn' and swollen due to canker sores or ulcers. Usually 'Don sembung' is used to improve blood circulation in patients with high blood pressure.
